Chenin Blanc produced biodynamically with low yields and indigenous yeasts. Some of the most interesting wines in the whole of the Loire come from these cellars.
Domaine Breton Vouvray Pet Nat La Dilettante
Region : France > Loire Valley > Vouvray
Tasting Note : Soft and rounded with rich cherry and apple notes and crunchy toffee notes.
Blend : 100% Chenin Blanc.
Wine Making : Traditional method. Ultra organic care which means they avoid chemical fertilisers and weed killers, restrict yields to 40-45 hl/ha and harvest by hand. The Bretons use indigenous yeasts and their desire for natural winemaking comes through strong in their resistance to the use of sulphur, with typically 10mg/l added at bottling to many cuvees, although some are bottled without sulphur at all, and they are all bottled unfiltered.
