Bairrada is the region of 3B's, with this wine using the region's famous grape varieties Baga and Bical. Bairrada was the first region in Portugal to produce sparkling wine, where the Atlantic influence and chalky clay soil are perfect for creating freshness and minerality. Within the blend, Baga gives structure and acidity whilst Bical brings a creamy character.

Drink me with : Whilst this wine is an amazingly versatile aperitif, it can be served with seafood or poultry dishes and also strong cheeses.
About the Producer : The Pato name is a big one in Portuguese wine, and Filipa's father Luis is one of the best-known producers in the country with a very well-established reputation both at home and abroad. It was probably inevitable, then, that one of his three daughters would be inspired to carry on the family tradition. After her studies in chemistry, she decided to do some travelling and gained wine-making experience in Bordeaux then in Argentina and Australia. Then it was time to head back to Portugal, but to set up on her own, rather than join the family business. She set up long-term rental agreements on vines in the Dao and Bairrada and has quickly established a reputation as one of the brightest and best of the new young bunch of Portuguese winemakers. Her wines exemplify the best of Portuguese style with a modern approach to structure and balance.
